Mark Lorschy

Mark Lorschy & 'Rosie'

Practice Group Manager – NSW

Mark has always been passionate about veterinary science. He is a firm believer that enabling vet practices to be better businesses will lead to happier practice owners, more productive vets and vet nurses and positive health outcomes for clients’ pets. This gets him up in the morning!

Although technology such as veterinary practice management software, websites, in-house diagnostics and digital X-ray play a significant part in enabling better patient care and attracting and retaining staff, Mark believes that these may sometimes only be blunt tools without an appropriate business plan.

Mark’s interests and skills lie in collaborating with leading vet practices to inspire them to be better businesses. There are two keys to his success. The first is the systematic development and implementation of strategies to deliver the business plan. Some of these key strategies include recruitment, staff retention, marketing and inventory management. The second is accountability. Mark is passionate about measuring and tracking performance of a business against its targets and working together with practice teams to empower them to exceed business targets.

During Mark's studies at university, he met his wife Kellie, who is a veterinarian. They have two delightful children: a girl and a boy, who are both at primary school. Sport captures many of his family's weekend activities; with one of the highlights following the South Sydney Rabbitohs. For more than 16 years, Mark has been a member of the local Rural Fire Service. Mark and his family also enjoy camping and try to get away as frequently as they can.

Louisa Dolinschek

Louisa Dolinschek & 'Grady'

Louisa has been a registered veterinary nurse in Western Australia for almost 20 years, and has worked within the veterinary industry for more than 30 years. She has worked in several veterinary hospitals in Perth and worked for a few years at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Saskatoon, Canada. Her experience has primarily been in busy, referral, specialist and teaching hospitals – Murdoch University, The Western College of Veterinary Medicine (Saskatoon) and South Metropolitan College of TAFE (Polytechnic West).

Louisa therefore has extensive experience in managing and working with large teams of staff, as well as supporting the education of veterinary students, student nurses, and junior staff.

Whilst employed as the small animal nurse manager at Murdoch University she was responsible for a team of more than 15 full-time nursing staff, and played a key role in the planning and development of extensions to the referral services offered at the time – namely the Oncology Unit and Hospital, and the Emergency Centre. Louisa has a passion for excellence, best practice and continuing education, and appreciates the many challenges of working in small animal veterinary medicine.

Outside of work, Louisa enjoys yoga and hiking in the Perth Hills with her two dogs. She is a mum to two gorgeous daughters and occasionally runs an errand or two for her husband. She is also trying to finish painting her house.

During that time I moved into roles such as head surgical nurse looking after new grad vets in surgery, onto practise management roles. I then moved onto sales with Novartis Animal Health and stayed there for quite a few years whilst also doing my Bachelor in Equine and Animal Science and then onto my masters in Equine Science.
